This is an excerpt from the opera 'Carmen' staged at Wuppertal Oper in June 2018. It depicts the scene change from act 3 into act 4 where the bull ring panels descend from the fly tower and rotate to form the bullring for the final scene.

Our fit up here in Wuppertal is complete. First orchestra rehearsal tonight. 8000 screws, 2.5kms wood batoning, 100 foam sheets and 50 litres of texture paint to create the 27 flying/rotating panels that form the inner drum and outer semi circle.

Coronation Day

Final light corrections here at Park Theater in Eindhoven saw me don the coronation robe and laurel crown for the end of Act I of Guiseppe Verdi’s ‘Un Ballo in Maschera’. Final Dress Rehearsal tonight.
